About Gajera Trust

The historic journey started with a dream to achieve greatness when the two Gajera brothers arrived in Surat to earn their livelihood in 1972. There they started off as diamond workers, sometimes working on the same machinery in conjunction. In a short span of 2-3 years, they were successful in establishing their own line of business, which later grew and branched into various industries such as Diamond, Textiles and Construction. With all these enterprises, they had achieved to make a name and a place for themselves in the community where they had come with nothing but the clothes they had when they left home. Along with the different lines of businesses, the brothers also laid the foundation for Smt. Shantaben Haribhai Gajera Trust – a charitable organization in the memory of their late mother. The main focus of the organization was the welfare of the society that it was erected in, and it emphasized the creation of more and better schools and colleges, hospitals, and social work. Apart from all these, the Trust also founded an Orphanage – Vatsalyadham, for the sole purpose of providing a safe haven for all the orphans that were in need of shelter and care. Vasantbhai Gajera, the President of the Institution, treats and nurtures the institution like his own children and tends to all their needs. Today, the name of Laxmi Diamond Industries and the Gajera Trust has spread far and wide, in various parts of the world.

The philosophy of doing well along with the core values of knowledge, action, and care have served as my guideposts. There is and there will always be a special place for my native place, Amreli, Gujarat, where my roots belong.

Through upliftment of social well-being and quality of education, my family and I have been following the dreams planted in us by our parents.

There is a strong need for bounded rationality, spontaneity and out-of-the-box thinking to tackle every scenario that can be imaginable or unthinkable and someone who has this caliber can succeed easily in life. Our activities are focused around skill development and holistic learning, where children are imparted critical thinking, problem solving, communication and experimental learning. I believe that every individual has tremendous potential to grow and progress. Education with exploration is a tool to achieve it.
